Colonial Pipeline is the largest refined products pipeline in the United States, transporting more than 100 million gallons or 2.5 million barrels per day. About the Corrosion Engineer Position

As the Corrosion Engineer you will influence and support the planning, scheduling, and execution of corrosion control programs for line pipe, tanks, and facilities. The Corrosion Engineer will ensure data is analyzed and integrated with other pipeline data to support corrosion mitigation programs that assure the integrity of Colonial’s system. In this role you will administer the corrosion prevention applications and assist in maintaining the corrosion prevention procedures and standards. This role will require working independently as well as cooperation and teamwork with field personnel to improve processes, resolve problems and influence decisions regarding corrosion threats.

What You Get to Do:

  • Support System Integrity Program Management (SIPM) initiatives including the 5-yr strategic planning, annual work plan development, budgeting, and forecasting.

  • Provide projects and feedback for the annual Work Plan budget items for the Corrosion Element of SIPM.

  • Develop solutions that will reduce expenditures, generate cost savings, and create system efficiencies.

  • Drive improvements to current processes contained in the Integrity Management Program.

  • Perform assigned activities in accordance with corporate strategic objectives, industry standards, and customer expectations.

  • Provide support and involvement in appropriate cross-functional teams for continuously improving and managing the corporate assets from an integrity perspective including external vendors and service providers.

  • Provide technical support within the department related to corrosion control assessment, data collection and evaluation.

  • Administer and support corrosion prevention databases and data analysis processes.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field of study from an accredited college or university.

  • Ideally, 2+ years of experience in corrosion and/or integrity.

  • NACE Certification as a Corrosion/ Cathodic Protection Professional.

  • Strong knowledge in analytics processes, procedures, and applications.

  • Knowledge of corrosion control and its role in an overall integrity management program.

  • Ability to communicate effectively and problem solve.

  • Commitment to consistently adhere to policies and procedures and be a positive example for others by demonstrating the Company’s core values of Respect, Accountability, Innovation, Safety, and Excellence in completing work assignments.

  • Self-motivated, have phenomenal work ethic and looking for the right company to support your growth.

  • Ideally, 5+ years of experience in corrosion and/or integrity.

  • Certification in one of the following: NACE Corrosion Technologist, NACE Cathodic Protection Technician (CP-2), NACE or SSPC Coatings Certification, and/or Internal Corrosion Certification.
